Sprinkles of Fun Sundae Dishes

Here’s a recipe for serving dishes that looks good enough to eat! Start with the Duncan® Oh Four™ Wavy Ice Cream Dish, mix it up with Concepts Underglazes® and sprinkle in some French Dimensions™ and you’ve got a fun way to serve your next sundae!

Instructions

For all pieces wipe ware with damp sponge to remove any bisque dust.

White Ice Cream dish

  1. Pour Really White into the Ice Cream dish. Roll around to coat sides and pour out excess into a clean container.
  2. Using Fan Glaze brush, apply three coats over dish. Let dry between coats.
  3. Using the colors of French Dimensions™, make short, dashed lines at the top of the cup to simulate candy sprinkles. Apply them to “spill” inside and down the outside. Let dry.
  4. Brush one coat of Pure Brilliance™ inside and outside of cup. Let dry.
  5. Stilt and fire to witness Cone 06.

Tall Waffle Cone Dish

  1. Using the Fan Glaze brush, apply three coats Bright Ginger to inside and outside of dish. Let dry between coats.
  2. Trace “V” shapes from pattern onto tracing paper.
  3. Pencil over “V” lines on reverse side of tracing paper. Position around cup and with right side up, pencil over pattern to transfer.
  4. Use No. 4 Liner to paint two coats of Dark Ginger inverted “Vs” around cup. Let dry between coats.
  5. Use No. 4 Liner to paint two coats of Really White upright “Vs” around cup. Let dry between coats.
  6. Lightly pencil irregular drip mark around inside and outside lip of cup. Using No. 10 Round, paint two coats Bright Briarwood on drip. Let dry between coats.
  7. Brush one thin coat of Pure Brilliance™ onto entire dish. Let dry.
  8. Stilt and fire to witness Cone 06.

Short Waffle Cone Dish

  1. Using the Fan Glaze brush, apply three coats Bright Ginger to inside and outside of dish. Let dry between coats.
  2. Trace “V” shapes from pattern onto tracing paper.
  3. Pencil over “V” lines on reverse side of tracing paper. Position around cup and with right side up, pencil over pattern to transfer.
  4. Use No. 4 Liner to paint two coats of Dark Ginger inverted “Vs” around cup. Let dry between coats.

  7. Brush one thin coat of Pure Brilliance™ onto entire dish. Let dry.
  8. Stilt and fire to witness Cone 06.
