Plain Ugly Sweater Ornament

From plain to just plain ugly… this ugly sweater themed ornament gives you the freedom to paint your own obnoxious details to create an addition to your tree that’s sure to be the topic of conversation! Paint one as a great activity for an ugly sweater party!

  1. Wipe ornament with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
  2. Place tape approximately 1” below neckline. Leave 1” space and run another strip of tape across sweater.
  3. Trace tree patterns on contact paper. Cut out and attach to space between the tapes.
  4. Brush three coats Really Red over ornament. Let dry.
  5. Remove tape and tree contact paper stencils.
  6. Use end of paintbrush to dab into White. Test size of dot on paper to determine small flowers above the trees.  Dab small flowers across sweater. Let dry.
  7. If desired, mix a tiny dab of Black into the Red and stir. Lightly brush along line separating sleeves and sweater. Let dry.
  8. Repeat with back of ornament if desired.
  9. Brush a light coat of Pure Brilliance to both sides of ornament. Let dry
  10. Stilt ornament and fire to cone 06.
