Jolly Ol’ Santa Mug

Everyone’s favorite jolly elf makes the perfect mug for your hot cocoa during the holiday season. Bring him to life with Concepts Underglazes!

 

  1. Wipe mug with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
  2. Brush three coats Light Blush to Santa’s face.
  3. Mix a small amount of Neon Red into the Light Blush to create a rosy pink. Paint nose, lips and two round circles on cheeks.
  4. Paint three coats Neon Red to Santa’s hat, suit, pants and cup handle.
  5. Brush three coats Light Saffron to Santa’s belt buckle. Let dry.
  6. Paint Santa’s eyes with Black.
  7. Use Liner brush to paint Black in Santa’s belt and upper boots. Paint remainder of boots and bottom using Round brush. Repeat with second and third coats. Let dry.
  8. Stilt Santa mug on kiln shelf and fire to cone 06.
  9. Brush one coat Pure Brilliance to inside mug and white unpainted areas of Santa.  Let dry.
  10. Brush a second coat to entire Santa mug. Let dry.
  11. Stilt and re-fire to cone 06.
