Here’s a sweet project that’s fun for all ages! The oversized candy cane doubles as a box to hold, well, candy canes, trinkets and whatever your heart desires.
- Wipe box and lid with damp sponge to remove bisque dust.
- Trace pattern on tracing paper to transfer pattern to candy cane box.
- Align tracing on top of bisque lid. Make marks on top and bottom of each line. Remove tracing.
- Place strip of tape from top to bottom of each line to create stripes.
- Using brush of choice as needed, paint three coats Really Red in each stripe. Let dry. Remove tape.
- Place lid on bottom box and align stripes. Make small mark with pencil for tape placement. Add tape.
- Brush three coats Really Red to inside stripes. Let dry.
- Place box and lid on kiln shelf and fire to cone 06.
- Brush two coats Pure Brilliance to white bisque areas and a thin coat on the Really Red stripes. Let dry.
- Stilt box and lid and re-fire to cone 06.
